Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
Hive is an AI fitness and wellness app. This policy explains what data Hive works with, when it is collected, and the choices you have. It is written to be plain and honest. It is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
Who we are
Hive is developed by Sahib Abbasov (developer; legal entity [LEGAL_ENTITY_IF_ANY] — if a company is registered, it will be named here), based in Azerbaijan. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [SUPPORT_EMAIL].
What Hive is
Hive helps you with coaching, food and nutrition, body progress, running and daily habits through an AI coach called HEX. You enter most of your information yourself; Hive does not silently collect data in the background.
Information we collect
- Account information: if you create an account, your name and email, plus a securely stored password where email sign-in is used.
- Fitness & profile information: the goals and preferences you set (for example goal, activity level, diet preference) and values you choose to log such as steps, sleep notes and targets.
- Body measurements & progress: weight check-ins, measurements, and progress photos you add.
- Food & nutrition logs: meals and macros you confirm. Hive only stores values you confirm — it does not invent nutrition numbers.
- Running & activity data: run and activity sessions you record (such as distance, pace and time).
- Coach messages: the text you send to the AI coach, plus recent conversation context, so HEX can answer.
Photos, camera and microphone
These are used only when you choose an action that needs them — for example attaching a meal or progress photo, or recording a voice message for the coach. Hive does not access your camera, photo library, or microphone in the background. On iOS the system always asks you first, and you can deny or revoke access at any time in iOS Settings.
Apple Health, Apple Watch & HealthKit
Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In
Native Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In are not active in the current build; account creation uses email. If these sign-in options are enabled later, they will share only the basic profile information you approve (such as name and email, subject to your choices, including Apple's option to hide your email), and this policy will be updated.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, Hive may send reminders and coaching nudges. Notifications are optional — you can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings → Hive.
How we use information
- To provide the app's features — coaching, logging, progress and reminders.
- To generate HEX's responses from the data you have entered or confirmed.
- To maintain, secure and improve the app.
Hive does not sell your data and does not use it for third-party advertising.
How we store and protect data
Your Hive profile, logs, memories and chat history are stored on your device (local storage). If you sign in with email, an account record is created so your data can persist for you. Connections to Hive's API use HTTPS, and email passwords (where used) are salted and hashed. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and Hive cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party services
To generate coaching replies, your message and a small amount of relevant context (your confirmed metrics, goal, and recent turns) are sent over a secure connection to Hive's server, which forwards them to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) to produce a response. Hive does not send your message content to advertisers. Hive's server/API is run on standard cloud hosting. We do not add third-party analytics or tracking SDKs to the app.
Payments & subscriptions
Hive's “Pro” is currently a beta preview. No charge is made and no in-app purchase is active. If paid plans are introduced later, billing will be handled by Apple's App Store and this policy will be updated; Hive does not collect or store your payment card details.
Your choices and permissions
- Grant or deny camera, photo, microphone and notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Hive.
- Clear coach memory or reset onboarding from within the app.
- Request deletion of any account data we hold (see below).
Data deletion requests
Because your data lives primarily on your device, removing it is largely in your control: you can clear coach memory, reset onboarding, or delete the app to remove local data. If a server account was created for you, you can request deletion of that data. See the dedicated Delete your account & data page, or email [SUPPORT_EMAIL].
Children's privacy
Hive is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age. Please do not use Hive if you are under the applicable minimum age.
International users
Hive is operated from Azerbaijan, and the third-party services it relies on (such as the AI provider and hosting) may process data in other countries. By using Hive, you understand your information may be processed outside your country of residence. Where local law gives you rights over your data (such as access or deletion), contact us at [SUPPORT_EMAIL] and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Hive evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
